Florida Department of Health in Lake County

Staff at the Florida Department Health in Lake County (FDOH-Lake) provides wellness programs designed to improve the health of our community. We offer wellness services and programs which include:

Tobacco Prevention Program

The Tobacco Prevention Program at the Florida Department of Health in Lake County is a comprehensive program that provides:

  • School-based and community presentations

  • Encouragement through cessation referral as well as support

  • Empowerment through youth-based advocacy, activities

  • Teen Tobacco Citation Class

Healthiest Weight Florida

The Healthiest Weight initiative was launched in 2013 in an effort to address the public health challenges facing the residents of Florida. FDOH-Lake supports these initiatives through a variety of activities and services to education and inform on the benefits of making health choices.

National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP)

The National Diabetes Prevention Program is a 12 month program that consist of 16 weekly one hour core sessions followed by 6 monthly follow‐up sessions that provide tools to:

  • Eat Healthy
  • Be More Active
  • Lose Weight

Community Outreach Requests

As part of our mission, we promote health with attending various outreach events throughout Lake County. We have program staff available for various meeting and events to promote specific aspects of health and disease prevention. Outreach request are based on availability.
