Rescind Rabies Alert Tavares 2-12-15

The Florida Department of Health in Lake County Rescinds Rabies Alert Issued for the Tavares Area of Lake County  

Tavares – Having no cases of rabies in the area since the rabies alert issued on Thursday, December 12, 2014.
  • North boundary- Highway 441
  • South boundary- Woodlea Road
  • East boundary- Lake Harris
  • West boundary- State Road 19
 Residents should always remember the following:
  • Avoid contact with any wild or domestic free roaming animals.
  • Call Lake County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services if such animals approach their home or yard.
  • Make sure your pet(s) have current rabies vaccinations.
 Persons who have been bitten or scratched by wild or domestic animals should seek medical attention and report the injury to the Florida Department of Health in Lake County at 352-253-6130.
