According to the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) false assumptions about STIs, how they’re spread, prevented, and treated are everywhere and it can be especially hard for people to get the facts. Half of the estimated 20 million STIs that occur in the U.S. each year are among young people.
Did You Know?
- Most STI’s, even HIV are treatable and most are curable. If left untreated they can lead to serious health problem including death.
- Many STI’s don’t have any symptoms therefore the only way of knowing is getting tested.
- STI tests are not always part of a regular doctor visit, therefore you won’t get one unless you request it.
