The Florida Department of Health in Lake County offers students and volunteers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in public Health with a state government organization. DOH-Lake is proud to provide enriching and rewarding experiences for interns as they contribute to the health and well-being of our community.
Applicants must complete and receive a satisfactory result from a Level 2 background screening. Due to limited work resources and availability, not all applications will be accepted.
Volunteer Opportunities
Share your skills and passion for public health by volunteering with DOH-Lake.
When applying, indicate your areas of interest and any relevant skills that could assist in matching you with a program.
Acceptance is determined by agency needs and cannot be guaranteed. Volunteers are subject to a Level 2 background screening.
Application Process
Interns and Volunteers are required to:
- Complete and submit an online application
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Complete an interview for proper placement and two professional references
- $36 money order Payable to the Florida Department of Health in Lake County will be required for a background screening. If you are currently enrolled in a study program that requires a level 2 background screening, you may be able to submit an attestation of background screening memorandum signed by your school.
- Must provide a valid state of Florida driver’s license or picture identification and social security card
- Attend orientation and any required trainings
